Tonik Health Insurance Reviews & Tips
By : Sudarma
Tonik health insurance has an innovative approach to health coverage. Its appeal is to the
younger generation and its website is set up to display faces of youthful people.
Tonik health insurance caters to predominantly younger and healthier individuals between the ages of 19-29. It is sponsored by Blue Cross and Anthem.
Tonik health insurance does not cover maternity benefits.
There are deductibles in all of the Tonik health insurance plans. The premiums range from $64-$123 a month for an individual, certainly not that expensive. Three levels of coverage exist for these plans which have deductibles that go up according to your risk. Group 1 in Tonik health insurance is called, if you can believe it, Thrill Seeker and because you are a thrill seeker you get a $5,000
deductible annually. In Tonik health insurance group 2 entitled Part-Time Daredevil, your annual deductible is $3,000 annually. Finally in group 3 your deductible is $1,500 and you are called a
Calculated Risk Taker. Even the sound of this name sounds like you are more careful.
The question arises as what determines your grouping. The names are catchy, but if you are a motorcyclist you will not necessarily fall into the Thrill Seeker group. When you fill out the form to join these health plans, your age and where you live will
decide your rates, along with your medical history. The medical history that you have is the major determinant as to what group you will fall into. The names are entertaining and meaningless, they are only an advertising ploy. If you have a
preexisting condition you will be lucky to be placed into the Daredevil group.
Tonik health insurance has shown itself to be a genius in marketing. They cover up your health condition with amusing names, not necessarily
amusing premiums. If you are young there is no reason not to take Tonik health insurance as long as you are aware that they are similar to most other companies in the way they charge premiums. You are
getting lower premiums because you are young, but still paying higher deductibles.
